Various Artists - Metro Subterranean 2 [LP - Blue]
Release Date: November 21, 2025
Label: Hyperspace Communications
The second in a series featuring four modern future wave bands, this time all based in Los Angeles and currently touring national venues and festivals. Each is unique but collectively represent the fresh, electrifying sound of bands in the 21st century. Donzii originally from Miami, is a time-bending, post-punk vision: a unity of go-hard industrial bangers, darkly ambient balladry, and new takes on the funk traditions of No Wave. Klypi is the “pop-star” avatar of AC Carter, a multi-disciplinary artist from Birmingham, Alabama. Klypi is part electropop - part performance art with the appeal of synthesizer driven songs in an EDM language. The second side goes further out with ICBM, the collective brain child of Ian Bain from SoCal's inland empire. With music that has been described as the “teenage Frank Zappa”, they bring to the stage and studio a gender bending collision of punk rock, experimental jazz, and shocking art vocals. Finally, Period Bomb is a band started by Camila Alvarez, also from Miami, with the intention of creating a new live experience with every performance. Bursting from the traditions of Riot Grrl punk, bombastic feminist performance art, and hard core improvisation, their recorded tracks can barely contain the energy they bring to the stage. Pressed in deep blue clear vinyl.
